Despite continued global investments in improving the productivity of agricultural systems, substantial portions of food crops are then lost at and after harvest. This project focuses on identifying evidence-backed, feasible strategies for reducing postharvest losses (PHL) of key food crops in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Outputs from the project include a systematic scoping review of research literature on reducing PHL, a report—informed by key informant interviews in five focal countries—on the current landscape of postharvest interventions, and a summary report that focuses on the most promising interventions for each crop group and postharvest activity stage identified through the review and landscaping work.
