A significant body of research on service delivery in situations of fragility, conflict and violence has been built over the last 15 years but there has been limited synthesis of findings across research programmes and sectors. A virtual webinar in December 2025 and an in-person workshop held at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) in January 2026 brought together researchers, practitioners and policymakers to break down the sectoral silos around key findings from this research. The aim was to explore commonalities and differences between sectors in research findings around how to support services and strengthen state capacities and national systems. A further aim was to discuss and develop future research agendas that build on this body of research and can continue to influence policy and practice.
